Introduced: 1985 Discontinued: 2005

Cambo Calumet 45NX is the modernized successor to the Cambo SC — in production 1985-2005, distributed in North America as the "Calumet 45NX" and in Europe as a Cambo SCX or similar model. Sharing the SC's modular monorail architecture, the 45NX added refinements: improved focus-rack precision, more rigid front/rear standards, and a brighter ground-glass focus screen.

Key features

  • 4×5 inch format with Graflok-compatible back
  • Modular monorail construction — every major component swappable, same parts compatibility as Cambo SC
  • Full front movements: rise, fall, shift, swing, tilt with refined indexing
  • Full rear movements: rise, fall, shift, swing, tilt
  • Bellows draw: ~600 mm standard; bag bellows or wide-angle bellows compatible
  • Standard Cambo lens boards; Linhof Technika boards via adapter
  • Brighter ground-glass focus screen than SC era

Practical notes

  • Calumet 45NX bodies on used market: $500-1300 depending on configuration
  • Compatible with same lens boards, bellows, and accessories as Cambo SC — large used-parts ecosystem
  • Common service items: bellows replacement, rail-clamp friction, ground-glass screen replacement
  • The most-refined of the Cambo monorail line for buyers seeking new-old-stock or near-mint examples
