Pentax SMC Pentax 645 75mm f/2.8
SMC Pentax 645 75mm f/2.8 is the standard normal lens for the Pentax 645 system — equivalent to roughly a 47mm field of view in 35mm terms on the 6×4.5 cm format. The 75mm focal length is true normal for 645 (matching the diagonal of the frame), and most Pentax 645 buyers receive this lens as their kit standard.

Use case + rendering
The 75mm f/2.8 is the universal Pentax 645 portrait + general lens. Wide-open performance is good; stopped to f/4-f/5.6 it is sharp across the field. SMC multi-coating gives clean color rendering and good flare control.
The 645 system shoots 16 frames per 120 roll, which makes it the most film-economical medium format. Pentax 645 bodies (especially 645N) auto-advance the film and provide AE prism finder integration — the closest experience to a 35mm SLR available in medium format.
Compatible bodies
- Pentax 645 — manual focus only
- Pentax 645N — autofocus + AE
- Pentax 645 NII — autofocus + AE refinement
