Pentax SMC Pentax 67 135mm f/4 Macro
The Pentax 67 system's dedicated macro lens — focuses to 1:2 (half life-size) reproduction natively without auxiliary tubes. Originally released as the Super-Takumar 6×7 135mm Macro in the early 1970s, updated through SMC Takumar and SMC Pentax 67 coating generations.
In 35mm-equivalent terms, 135mm on 6×7 corresponds to roughly 67mm full-frame — short-tele working distance suitable for nature macro (insects, flowers) where stand-off distance prevents disturbing the subject, and for studio still-life where the slightly longer working distance keeps the camera out of the lighting setup. For 1:1 (life-size) reproduction, an extension tube or bellows is required — the lens itself caps at 1:2.
The 135mm f/4 Macro can be used as a general-purpose short-tele as well; image quality is excellent at conventional focusing distances, not just close-up. Mounts on the inner bayonet; 67mm filter thread. Mirror lock-up is essential for macro work at near-1:2 reproduction — vibration is amplified at high magnification, and the body's mirror slap is the dominant vibration source at typical macro shutter speeds.
Notes
Focuses to 1:2 natively; extension tube required for 1:1.
