Wanderlust Cameras Pinwide
Wanderlust Pinwide is the commercial Micro Four Thirds pinhole manufactured by Wanderlust Cameras — a precision-machined pinhole element in a small plastic body that mounts to Micro Four Thirds (MFT) cameras (Olympus PEN, Olympus OM-D, Panasonic G-series, etc.) like a conventional lens. Effective focal length is approximately 11mm, providing a 22mm field-of-view-equivalent in 35mm terms — wider than most conventional MFT primes.
Key features
- Micro Four Thirds mount — fits all MFT cameras
- Effective focal length ~11mm (22mm-equivalent on 35mm)
- Effective aperture f/96 — fixed; precision-machined pinhole
- No glass elements
- Lightweight plastic body — typically under 30 g
- No focusing required — infinite depth of field
- Made in USA by Wanderlust Cameras
Use case + rendering
The Pinwide is a digital-pinhole gateway — a low-friction way to experiment with pinhole aesthetics on a digital MFT body, with the file-rate speed of digital sensors paired with the ethereal pinhole rendering. Image quality is characteristic pinhole: soft, infinite-depth-of-field, low contrast that benefits from post-processing curves.
The wide field-of-view (22mm-equivalent) suits landscape, architecture, and tight-interior work where the pinhole aesthetic is desired. ISO 1600+ is typically required for handheld; tripods are common.
The Pinwide complements rather than replaces a conventional MFT lens kit — most owners use it for occasional pinhole-aesthetic projects rather than as a primary optic.
Compatible bodies
- All Micro Four Thirds cameras: Olympus PEN, OM-D series; Panasonic G, GH, GX series; Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (also MFT)
