Schneider Super-Angulon 65mm f/5.6

Schneider Super-Angulon 65mm f/5.6 is the ultra-wide LF lens for 4×5 format — the widest Super-Angulon (excluding the XL series). The 65mm focal length on 4×5 is equivalent to roughly 18mm on 35mm — extremely wide, requiring careful composition discipline.
Key features
- Mount: Copal 0 shutter (1s to 1/500, X-sync at all speeds)
- Focal length: 65mm
- Maximum aperture: f/5.6
- Image circle: ~155mm at f/22 — covers 4×5 with limited movements
- Optical formula: 8-element/4-group symmetrical wide-angle
- Multi-coating on later production examples
Use case + rendering
The 65 Super-Angulon is the architectural-interior + landscape ultra-wide for 4×5. Limited movements due to relatively tight image circle — best suited to format-filling compositions where minimal rise/fall is needed. Sharp by f/16-f/22; corners benefit from stopping down. Typical of the older Super-Angulons, multi-coated examples have meaningfully better contrast against backlit subjects.
For more movements at this focal length, the Super-Angulon XL 58mm or 72mm offer larger image circles at the cost of higher prices and rarer used availability.

- Graflex Crown Graphic / Graflex Speed Graphic / Graflex Super Graphic — verify front standard clearance for bellows compression
